3 Acre Vineyard produces small quantities of artisan wines concentration on the Italian varieties of Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese. This is in honour of our Italian and French ancestors, the Gagette family.
We create our wines from the soil up, respecting the “terroir” of the vineyard. Nurturing the soil and meticulously tending the vines to produce wines with authentic flavours and structure.
We believe wine belongs on the table with good food, friends and family an integral part of the joyous expression of life. Wines to enjoy, wine to savour, wine we hope you will share, embracing our passion to produce new and exciting expressions of these Italian varieties.
Pinot Grigio/Gris
The White wine of Northern Italy is noted for it’s luscious fruit flavours and spiciness. Our aim is to produce a Pinot Grigio/Gris which is loaded with fruit, has a backbone of crisp acidity and is both clean and refreshing. We are looking for classic green apple, pear and tropical flavours as well as hints of honeysuckle, sea salt and subtle minerality. The current 2015 vintage Pinot Grigio is our best yet, clean, inviting and refreshing. It is the perfect accompaniment to Italian anti pasta or seafood dishes, and spicy Asian cuisine.
Recommended Retail Price $18.00 Internet Sales $13.50 or $81.00 a 6 Pack.
Sangiovese Rose (Rosato)
We have made our Rosato by using the fruit which we thin out early in the season to produce the Rosato base to which we add the first juice from the Sangiovese fermentation with it’s richer flavours. This creates a subtle rose petal pink Rosato which combines Sangiovese’s red berry and cherry flavours with the captivating perfumed notes of Pinot Grigio. A refreshing and inviting wine, perfect with seafood dishes, delicate cheeses and leisurely lunches.
Always in limited supply the current release is 2015.
Recommended Retail Price $15.00 Internet Sales $12.00 or $72.00 a 6 Pack.
Sangiovese
Our objective is to produce a truly great “cool climate” Sangiovese. And every year we progress towards this objective. The Sangiovese consistently has subtle floral notes, crushed geranium and violet, blackberry and plum, dark cherry and olive framed with American, actually Missouri oak. The Sangiovese canes are cut prior to picking to allow the fruit to slightly sun dry on the vine “Amorone” style which adds to its richness and complexity. The current 2015 vintage is a beautifully balanced, lively and attractive wine which is perfect with rustic Tuscan cuisine, rich stews, pasta, soups and hard cheeses.
Recommended Retail Price $19.00 Internet Sales $16.00 or $96.00 a six pack.
